TLU SA took a pioneering step in bringing forth sustainable food security and production by applying the modern technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (also known as 4IR or Industry 4.0).

A collaborative agreement with IQ Logistica promises outcomes in easier market entry, management ability and cooperation. The company developed a traceability platform which facilitates primary agricultural production, processing, logistics and transactions to the end-user. The operations of role players in the value chain will effectively be redesigned from the perspective of integrated information management.

“TLU SA excitedly took note of how the cotton industry dramatically grew and improved year on year by implementing dynamic information management,” says Mr Louis Meintjes, the president of TLU SA. “IQ Logistica made a remarkable contribution to the cotton industry in South Africa. The technology works very well, as can be seen through the results in the cotton industry.”

TLU SA and IQ Logistica will collaborate on the systematic development of business intelligence, traceability and trade platforms going forward. TLU SA will create and facilitate a communication plan from which inputs will be processed.

“Members are encouraged to actively take part in this challenging and constructive growth process we are undertaking,” says Mr Meintjes.

TLU SA will distribute information on the progress and prospects of the project continuously.
